E-Commerce and Internet Technologies

This week’s blog is about platforms that I think are good to start and grow an e-commerce business. I will be giving advice to those looking to open up gyms, clothing boutiques and cafes.

GYM

Mindbody is a software-as-a-service company that provides cloud-based online scheduling and other management softwares for the fitness and wellness services industry.

  • Inventory and Bookings: With an emphasis in real-time data, a gym would be able to stay on top of class attendance, membership trends and customer preferences. What more could you want?
  • Payments: Mindbody integrates with various payment processors as well as having their own one called Mindbody Payments. This makes it easy for gyms to handle transactions securely. Mindbody Payments supports multiple payment methods including credit cards and digital wallets.
  • Real-time Data and AI: Mindbody provides real-time date on class attendance, membership trends and customer preferences. This information is vital for making data-driven decisions. They also provide AI messenger tools which helps keep on top of replying to contacts.

CLOTHING BOUTIQUE

Shopify is an e-commerce company and is 100% cloud based. This gives business owners the flexibility to access and run their business from almost anywhere, including a mobile device.

  • Inventory: Shopify allows for efficient management of product inventory with features like stock keeping unit tracking and automatic inventory updates.
  • Payments: Shopify supports a wide range of payment gateways for seamless transactions.
  • Real-time Data and AI: Shopify provides analytics and reporting tools to track sales, customer behaviour and inventory turnover.

CAFE

For cafes seeking an e-commerce solution, Square Online provides a seamless experience. Known for its simplicity, Square Online integrates effortlessly with Square’s point-of-sale system, facilitating the management of both online and in-person sales.

  • Inventory and Bookings: Square offers free inventory management, which is good for a new business that may have limited funds. Square Online allows for easy order ahead features, which can be valuable during peak times such as the morning.
  • Payments: Point of sale systems to process payments both online and in person. Square makes accepting card payments as fast, painless and secure as possible.
  • Real-time Data and AI: Square provides analytics tools to track sales, customer preferences and inventory turnover. While it doesn’t heavily offer AI based services, does offer insights that can be useful for your café’s operations.

I hope you enjoyed this week’s blog. Let me know which of these businesses you think you’d want to pursue in the comments 😀.
